ANSCHÜTZ Precision Rifle - MDT Mention

Founded in 1856, Anschütz makes some of the world's finest hunting and target rifles. Recently Anschütz launched two new rifles, the 1782 APR and the 1761 APR, purpose-built for Precision Rifle Competition. The Rifles both feature an MDT Chassis System. Let's take a look at these rifles.

ANSCHÜTZ 1782 APR

The 1782 APR is offered in 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, and the tried-and-true .308 Winchester. The heart of the 1782 APR is a receiver milled from a block of steel, a single-stage adjustable trigger, and a heavy precision barrel. Anschütz takes pride in its six-locking lug bolt system for maximum safety and precision. The top 20-moa Picatinny rail is milled into the receiver for maximum zero retention. The receiver mounts to a custom MDT ACC Chassis system via v-bedding and accepts MDT AICS 10 Round magazines.

Sharp-eyed readers will notice the larger magwell area. Anschütz used a custom MDT ACC Chassis to accommodate their custom action.

Three barrel and action combinations are available from the factory, including an all-black DLC-coated option, an option with a gold TIN-coated bolt breech and firing pin, and an FDE Cerakote receiver and barrel with a gold TIN-coated bolt breech and firing pin. The custom MDT ACC Premier Chassis is available in FDE or Carbon Grey. The MDT ACC Premier includes M-LOK slots and an ARCA rail along the forend of the chassis, which provides practically unlimited customization options for M-LOK and ARCA rail attachments. The Premier chassis is made of hard-anodized 6061 aluminum and has an internal and external weight kit for balance and recoil mitigation.

ANSCHÜTZ 1761 APR

Anschütz makes some of the most accurate rimfire target rifles in the world (every gold medalist at the Beijing Olympics used an Anschutz rifle). The 1761 APR is aesthetically different from Olympic target rifles. This rifle is the German Company's take on a modern precision rimfire rifle. The 1761 APR features a single-stage adjustable match trigger, a short throw 60-degree bolt, a heavy, threaded barrel, and a 30 MOA Picatinny. The 1761 APR features a 3-lug locking mechanism and a sliding safety with a loaded chamber indicator at the back of the action. Hosting the Anschütz receiver and barrel is the MDT XRS Chassis, which offers a pistol grip, adjustable cheek riser, five removable quarter-inch butt plate extenders, and M-LOK mounting points on all sides of the forend.

Bolt-action rifles have come a long way since Anschütz opened up shop almost two centuries ago. The APR series of rifles are state-of-the-art rifles ready for competition out of the box. Add a scope, get zeroed, get data, and start competing.
