Team MDT Wins in Arizona and Texas
The 2025 PRS Season has started, and Team MDT is coming out strong!
Over in Paulden, Arizona, Team MDT Shooter Rusty Ulmer Placed 1st in Combined and 2nd overall PRO at the Preferred Barrel NRL Hunter PRO AM Match. Team MDT shooter Daniel Bertocchini took 3rd PRO.
From Rusty Ulmer, "Stage 7 of the 2025 NRL Pro-Am match was, at least positionally, one of the most challenging stages. It was our first stage of the match. It was a two-target, two-position stage where the only way to shoot was by shooting through a hole in a juniper tree about three feet off the ground. There were two ways to shoot it effectively: either from the top of a tripod or using an MDT triple-pull bipod at its highest possible setting with a tripod rear support. I had worked with my am (my wife Melanie) using both of these techniques in preparation for the match, but I knew that the higher setting of the triple pull would be an awkward elevation for her to use, and I wanted to use the same technique that she would be using so that she could see how I approached the stage and use the same technique. All of the practice paid off, and she cleaned the stage efficiently, building her confidence for the rest of the match."
At the TX Precision match in Navasota, Texas, Team MDT Shooter Drew Walters took 5th place at the 2025 Leupold Steel Classic PRS Match. Drew started the day with a potential disaster of a stage by tripping and falling; however, he kept it together and only dropped two shots. He also cleaned the next 11 stages. Along with Drew, Team MDT shooter Chad Heckler won Top Tactical with his 308 build, and Gage Caples won Top Junior.

On another front, Team MDT Shooter Matt Stiner has been named the New PRS Centerfire Director for 2025. The Centerfire director will coordinate rule updates, provide guidance to maintain consistency in match standards, and assist with deconflicting match schedules to optimize participation and accessibility.
