HOW DOES MDT CERAKOTE ITS CHASSIS SYSTEMS?

Cerakote is a hard, flexible, durable ceramic-polymer compound that has become MDTs go-to paint solution for coating our Chassis Systems. In this video, MDT CEO Maarten Van Ruitenburg takes us through the entire Cerakote process from start to finish and introduces the individuals who are crucial to our quality control.

After machining our chassis, the chassis is washed in warm water to remove cutting fluids and then blasted with aluminum oxide to assist with Cerakote adhesion. After blasting, the chassis is blown off to remove any sand medium and then prepped for painting.

When it comes to prepping Cerakote, we mix by using weight via a digital scale, not by measuring volume. The H-Series Cerakote is thoroughly mixed, strained, then carefully sprayed onto the chassis. After Cerakote, the chassis is then hung in a large walk-in oven where the Cerakote is cured.

Cerakote is a very durable finish perfect for the rigors of hunting and competition.

Once the parts come out of the oven, a dedicated staff inspects each piece, looking for defects, mis-paints, dents, and machine lines. Parts that are not perfect are blasted and re-painted. This process ensures that the color will be the same whether you bought a chassis today or several years ago.
