MDT Field Stock vs. Traditional Hunting Stocks - MDT Mentions
The self-proclaimed “Baldies” of the growing YouTube Channel,‘Bald Guys With Guns,’ tested out theMDT Field Stock, comparing it to two traditional hunting style stocks on two long-range rifle builds.
The hosts gather their baseline performance data by taking 40 1000-yard shots in a prone, bipod-supported shooting position with their factory-configured hunting stocks. After each host takes twenty shots, one impact is achieved. Then, the hosts install their MDT Field Stocks and record their shot sequences to see if there is an immediate increase in target impacts using the same rifle actions, optics, and attachments with a modular stock.

After their range session, the Baldies record their final thoughts on the MDT Field Stock’s performance gains. Both shooters increased their target impacts with six out of 20 shots using the MDT Field Stock in harsh shooting conditions from the bed of a pickup truck.
Jeremy prefers the Field Stock for its target impact gains at long distances. His counterpart says he would most likely opt to use a traditional stock when hunting due to its lower weight, accounting for the weight of an animal carcass and terrain traversal post-kill. Both hosts agree that the modularity of the MDT Field Stock and its ergonomic features, like its included thumb rest, are the big quality-of-life improvements over most factory-configured traditional rifle stocks.
