Iron Ordnance: MDT JAE-G5 Vs MDT JAE-G4

YouTuber Iron Ordnance shot a great video listing some key differences between MDT's JAE-G4 and the new JAE-G5 Chassis Systems. During his tabletop review, the host goes front-to-back and states that no "downgrades" have been made to the MDT JAE-G5 version of this chassis system, but some ease-of-use improvements have been made.

Iron Ordnance notes that the biggest change made on the new JAE-G5 Chassis is the removal of the original magazine tension adjuster. Since the G4 was released, AICS magazine compatibility and standards have come a long way. With the standardization of modern AICS magazines, a magazine tensioner was deemed unnecessary. MDT added an adjustable magazine height latch on the JAE-G5 chassis system and an integrated ARCA rail that comes on the chassis from a factory configuration as opposed to the G4, which required an upgrade for the provision of ARCA slots.

Another large change from the previous generation JAE chassis systems is that the point of balance was moved further forward on the chassis' forend. This allows for better performance when using barricades and bracing a rifle during shooting matches, competition, or even hunting.

MDT reduced the knurling aggressiveness on an adjustment wheel at the bottom of the chassis' stock, lowering the chance of accidental adjustments when a shooter braces the stock with their offhand. Additionally, adjustable palm shelves and other customization options continue to be provided by the factory with the JAE-G5 chassis system.
