MDT ACC PREMIER GEN 2 10/22 BUILD

MDT ACC PREMIER GEN 2 10/22 BUILD

Long-range shooters and competitors have long used .22 caliber rimfires to supplement their practice. For some, it’s about saving money, while for others, it’s due to limited range access—it’s hard to find a range that exceeds a few hundred yards. As a result, rimfire competitions have gained popularity, with NRL-22 and PRS-Rimfire leading the way, along with many local matches. This sport serves as an entry point for many shooters—both young and old, new and experienced—to get into long-range shooting. As rimfire sports grow in popularity, the demand for precision .22s and related accessories increases. For MDT, that means offering a variety of chassis for many rimfire platforms. (Check out this recent article on how 22LR is the greatest long-range cartridge!)

Recently, MDT launched the ACC Premier Gen 2 chassis for the Ruger 10/22, one of the most popular rimfire rifles ever made. But how does it perform? And what’s the installation process like? That’s what Don of RimfireSS explains in his latest video.

OVERVIEW

The first part of the video covers the unboxing experience and details about the build. For this 10/22 project, Don chose a Powder River Precision Rubicon receiver assembly, which is paired with a Green Mountain barrel. These are all premium components designed for a high-performance rifle. The 10/22 version of the ACC Premier Gen 2 offers the same features as any other chassis in that series, including an integrated ARCA rail, M-lok slots, a longer forend, a v-block bedding system, a built-in thumb shelf, and more. Since this is for a 10/22, a rear tension bar is added to ensure a proper fit.

Assembly is fairly straightforward, with a few quirks due to the design of a 10/22. The main difficulty is attaching the stock to the chassis with a rear bolt. Because the opening for tightening is small, it can take several minutes. Don then compares the MDT >Oryx chassis and the Premier. The Oryx is an affordable chassis popular among rimfire shooters.

SHOOTING

After unboxing, assembly, and comparison, it’s time to shoot. Initial impressions are positive, as the ACC Premier Gen 2 chassis remains a top performer. The new MDT ACC Premier for 10/22 enhances the capabilities and performance of a 10/22 rifle. It’s the ideal addition to any rimfire competitor. And if you don’t have a 10/22, MDT offers models for CZ 457, Tikka T1X, and Volquartsen.
