An important aspect—perhaps the most important—of precision shooting is controlling your rifle under recoil. This is especially important when shooting from unconventional positions, such as off a fence post, a gate, or a tire. I've seen all of these in matches. The importance of this increases in NRL Hunter, where shooters must meet a weight-and-power-factor qualification for certain divisions.
MDT already provides several solutions, including the Baker Wings and Control Bridge. While these are effective, they add weight, which is not ideal in every situation. Also, the rifle you are shooting might not be compatible with these items. Generally, these are more specific to the chassis type you are using. With these considerations in mind, MDT is introducing Rifle Control Points compatible with M-LOK.
Here is a great video snippet of the MDT Rifle Control Points in action!
The MDT Rifle Control Points are a simple yet purposeful addition for shooters seeking to improve rifle handling and consistency when shooting from supported positions. Designed to attach directly to M-LOK forends, the control points provide an ergonomic, textured thumb index that helps reinforce proper body positioning, recoil management, and rifle control when working off a support bag.

Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with Type II Class II black anodizing, the system balances durability with a lightweight 2.33-ounce footprint—perfect for NRL Hunter. A key feature is its adjustability, allowing the left and right control points to be positioned virtually anywhere along the M-LOK slot pattern to match individual preferences and shooting styles.
Compatibility includes MDT's ACC Premier, ACC Elite, and LSS Gen 3 Competition Forends. The design will mount to any standard M-LOK forend (there may be some overhang, depending on the forend's profile). The result is a compact accessory that provides a more consistent point of contact without significantly increasing weight or bulk, making it a practical upgrade for precision rifle shooters focused on stability and repeatability. The package ships with a left-and-right control point and the appropriate mounting hardware, including a 1/8” Hex Drive.

The MDT Rifle Control Points aren't the flashiest accessory MDT has released, but they solve a very real problem for precision rifle shooters. Maintaining rifle control through recoil is critical, especially in positional shooting, where support surfaces are rarely ideal. By providing a consistent thumb index and additional point of contact, the Control Points help shooters stay connected to the rifle without adding significant weight or bulk. That makes them particularly appealing for disciplines like NRL Hunter, where every ounce matters. While products like the Baker Wings and Control Bridge remain excellent solutions, they aren't always the right fit for every rifle or shooting style. The Rifle Control Points offer a simpler, more universal alternative that can be tailored to the shooter and mounted on virtually any M-LOK forend. Sometimes the smallest upgrades can make the biggest difference behind the gun.
