- The magazines with front binder plates are compatible with all rifles equipped with AICS-pattern bottom metal or chassis systems. The binder plate holds the cartridges back from the front of the magazines and guides them past the bottom of the feed ramp. The maximum cartridge overall length (COAL) that will fit in this magazine is 2.870”.
- The magazines without front binder plates allow a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.960”. These are compatible with all AICS-pattern bottom metal and chassis systems, but most common actions such as Remington 700 and Savage 10/11 will require modifications to the receiver (i.e. notching out the bottom of the feed ramp) to prevent the bullet tips from catching on the bottom of the feed ramp.

picked up a couple of the 5rd metal MDT magazines because the Magpul magazines where not running in my new Tikka very well after I put on the MDT Core Bottom Metal. the magazines are top shelf. I have around 20 AICS magazines and these ones are by far the best. best fit and finish, best fit in all my 6.5CM rifles (5 of them) and very robust. i have no doubt i will be picking up more in the near future.

The factory description is accurate. I will add that they are thick enough steel to be very solid and high quality. I like the 5 rounder for hunting as it sticks out of the chassis least. The chassis adjustment for the magazine makes for a perfect fit with no feeding problems. Worth the money, happy with purchase.

I put a Savage 110 Short Action and Proof Barrel into the MDT XRS and have found great success when compared to the ultralight stock. What I sacrificed in weight from the 110 Ultralight has been made up for in sub MOA accuracy - and I wouldnt have it any other way as a big game hunter turned plinker. FDE looks much more muted in person, online it seemed very bright verging on yellow - but it blends right into the Virginia Deciduous forests very well, especially in Autumn/Whitetail Rut foliage.
This Chassis solved a headscratcher for me that I was wrestling with for a long time while trying to tighten my groups. I'd Reccommend this model to anyone and will most certainly be exploring your products as I build future rifles.

I purchased this magazine along with the Oryx chassis for my son’s .243 Win hunting rifle. We also purchased a polymer magazine. The MDT mag is consistently reliable (not the case for the polymer mag), and when I went to purchase another one, they were sold out. I will be getting another one.

Rifle shot ok groups out of the box but it didn't really shine until I swapped the chassis for an Oryx (my 3rd one). 150, 155,168,180gn bullets. Sub MOA from all of them at 100yds. This rifle is now DIALED IN!
