Manufacturing defect?

Because I wanted a durable vertical grip i recently purchased an MDT vertical carbon grip.
Unfortunately, the groove for sliding the handle onto the mounting template isn't straight. This prevents the handle from sliding onto the template. It has a narrowing of only half a millimeter, but the handle is made of such rigid material that it still won't work. I'll have to return it to the dealer.
Hopefully this is an exception.

These feel a lot better to me than the pistol grips that come on the hnt26 chassis. I would recommend to mdt that purchasers of a chassis should be able to select which grip they want. Better for the customers that way, but of course not better for overall profits i guess.
